Can I use my house as my registered business address?

You can work from home, but according to Indonesian regulations, you need to register your business in a designated office building. We can provide arrangements so you can work from home but never miss any mail, appointments, or information from your business address.

Do I always have to be present at my registered business address?

No. If you register with a co-working space or private office space, you’ll get your own workspace that you can use. However, how often your team wants to work at the office is up to your own policy.

As a note, all your business correspondence will be sent to your business address. So, it would be more convenient to have at least one of your team members close to the address location.

Can my company use a virtual office in Indonesia?

Some businesses, such as construction companies and event organizers, aren’t allowed to use virtual offices in Indonesia. You can learn more here. As alternatives, these companies can register their address in coworking spaces or private offices.

Virtual offices in Indonesia are usually used by early-stage startups or service-oriented small businesses. Larger businesses might be better off with physical offices, not only for compliance but also to provide a better impression for customers.

Is "virtual office" the same as "business registered address"?

A virtual office isn’t a full-time workspace for your business. Having said that, most often a virtual office services can be used as a registered office address. In most markets, a virtual office would be sufficient for your incorporation process, but do make sure you talk to our team to understand better the regulations in your target market.

Can a foreign-owned company (PT PMA) use a virtual office in Indonesia?

As of October 2019, there are no government regulations that explicitly state whether a foreign-owned company (PT PMA) can use a virtual office. However, if your PT PMA company deals in one of the industries that cannot use a virtual office, you will need to get a physical workspace.

Also, because PT PMA companies usually have higher capital compared to local companies (PT), they are usually subject to higher scrutiny from Indonesian authorities. For this reason, having a physical workspace for your team can help your company’s image compared to a virtual office.
