What’s the difference between a work visa and work permit?

A work visa (usually a pre-arranged employee visa or 9(g) visa) is an immigration document, released by the bureau of immigration and allowing you to enter the Philippines as a foreign employee.
Work permits (usually alien employment permit or special work permit) are licenses, released by the bureau of local employment and allowing you to work and get income in the Philippines.
You’ll need both in order to properly work and live in the Philippines as a foreign employee.

What’s the difference between alien employment permit and special work permit?

An Alien Employment Permit allows you to work for more than six months in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, a Special Work Permit allows you to work for three to six months in the Philippines.
However, you’ll also need a Pre-Arranged Employee Visa along with either one of these options.

Can I bring my family into the Philippines?

Yes, if you’ve obtained or are applying for a Pre-Arranged Employee Visa.Your spouse and any unmarried children under the age of 21 will be able to apply as your dependents.
